PRP Therapy
Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP)
Mechanism
PRP is derived from the patient’s own blood. Platelets are concentrated and injected to release growth factors that stimulate healing and reduce inflammation.
Effectiveness
Effective for mild to moderate injuries and degenerative conditions. Best for localized injuries.
Advantages
1. Autologous (uses the patient’s own blood, so there’s no rejection risk).
2. Moderate cost compared to stem cells or exosomes
Applications
Tendon injuries, ligament injuries, osteoarthritis, hair restoration, skin rejuvenation.
Disadvantages:
1. Results vary; may require multiple treatments.
2. Less effective for advanced degenerative conditions.
